This is a rather boring and stiff DVD – my 3.5 year old daughter watched it for 5 minutes before asking for a change. This may scare some people off from ballet rather than encouraging them! The disclaimers at the front of the DVD, although perhaps necessary – add to the sense of seriousness of this DVD. Not recommended.

Good supplement for he beginning ballet student. The video has some good basic barre and center work exercises, although the 45 minutes seem too short. One can easily put in 1 hour of basic exercise material even for a basic class.

I was looking for a video that would take your through a class bar routine and this wasn’t it. It did break down some of the most basic moves but it never really put them together as part of a fluid routine.

I bought this and dvd 201 for Christmas for my daughter. She and I have been doing this video class for two months now. I finally feel ready to begin a class. It really is a great instructional for the privacy of your own home.
